Life's A Happy Song!

So it was Christmas this past week and it was AWESOME!!! I need to thank the Drasbek family for letting me go to their house to SKYPE! I am pretty sure my mom hasn't stopped talking about it. You might be wondering if I ate dinner there too... the answer would be: Yes!!!! It was super delicious! It has been really fun going to others houses and learning about all their family traditions that they do. Here is one of my favorites: So the dealio is this, They Make a delicious cake, angel food cake of course, and put a candle on for each millenium and sing happy birthday to Jesus! Then they all blow it out! How fantastic is that!!! Personally I think this is a fantastic Idea because it lets you realize that Christ is a real person! Surprisingly, others do the same for Joseph Smith on the 23rd of December. Fun traditions!

So, along with all the great fun I have had this week, I have been through some discouraging times as well. We had a lot of our appointments with our investigators fall through. We prepared super well for each one, but they kept scheduling it till next week. I guess that the Lord is just testing our planning abilities. I have come to value the concept of a back-up plan. All of the appointments that we had set were for sure going to happen, but something randomly popped up EVERY TIME! Frustrating, I know, but I see it as a learning opportunity to plan better for even the absolutes. I know that Heavenly Father has a grand scheme of things up there with him and I know that He sends me trials as I can take them.

HE WILL NEVER SET US UP TO FAIL!

I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet and through him, Christ restored this amazing and Marvelous Gospel! We just need to take hold of those principles and apply them in our lives. Always be looking to share this wonderful truth with ALL that you know. The single most important duty is to preach the gospel, Joseph Smith once said! Why do you think that of all the things we can do on this Earth, the most important is to share what we know? I could just come up front and tell you, but If i just do that, you won't gain personal confirmation that it is THE most important thing to do!

I love you all and can't wait to talk to you more!

CHRISTMAS SKYPE :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

It truly was an Exciting day with being able to talk to my son, Elder Zac Snell. Our family gathered around and waited for him to call so we could have details to Skype. It came about 2 hours late but I never gave up. I knew he would call. Here are some pictures......................

Thanks to grandma we got a  Regular Pic with our Happy Elder

Our FAmily gathered around to Skype with ZAC to say goodbye. Thanks to Lynette Hadley for getting this picture. This is the Moment when the Skype shut down right at 45 min. We didn't get to actually say the words Goodbye. But I am grateful the moment was captured.

Selfy Pic with ZAC

This Pic was sent to me on Christmas Eve by a The Redd Family in the ward he is serving in. Thank You Redd Family. Elder Rowley and Elder Snell 2013.

We are so very Blessed to have the Amazing children that we have. I pray they will always choose Christ and that they will be blessed and Happy. We are truly grateful for all the many blessings we have and Most grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ. Thank You Zac for making our day. FAMILY is what this life is all about!

And After Page 9.......... Comes Page 10.......

So the heading of this letter is one of my sad slip ups while teaching Dale...

And After Page 9.......... Comes Page 10.......

We just had a super spiritual moment and I was super excited that we were having one and then it got quiet. The only sound you could hear was one of the kids in the ward counting to one hundred. I didn't really like the silence, so I decided to take control of the conversation. That was when I slipped up.... After having made that ridiculous and obvious statement, Sister Glassett (member) turns to me and says, "Elder Snell can count too!" BAH!!!!!!

anyways.... I am loving my slip ups. Crazy stuff here in Reston. We found new people to teach! that's always good. They are from Egypt and speak Arabic. They needed some help for Christmas, so we found some help for them. they are great people, but they are hard to understand sometimes. Thankfully We found someone who knows how to speak Arabic in the ward.

that's all that I have time for right now. I cant wait to see my family on Skype!!!! AHHHH!H!H!H!H! Crazy things are going down!

Signing off with a MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Subject Will Be "Subject" for Lack of a Better Term

Hey Everybody!!! How are all of you people reading this doing?! It has been sadly, and uneventful week... BUT! I have always been optimistic! As someone once yelled out at Mr. Hendricks during a band rehearsal after he yelled at us for rushing: "Optimism is healthy!" Always love the moment you are in right now. it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to face the trials you are going against right now! Take full advantage of them!
We did a lot of service this past week because of all the snow we received. I put up Christmas lights for one of the Families here! The Meritts must have trusted Elder Rowley and me A TON to let us decorate their plants on their Front yard! We love being able to serve people!
I am grateful for the Book of Mormon in my life! Before my mission, I was pretty lazy about reading... Little did I know that there are some amazing principles and mysteries hidden within the text of that amazing book! In the very first book, the very first verse,(1 Nephi 1:1) Nephi says that he has gone through many afflictions and yet he knows that he is highly favored of the Lord! His understanding of Gods love for each one of us is Critical to our progression to become more like the Savior and our Heavenly Father. It is through the trials we face in our live that strengthen us to overcome greater trials to come! He brings us to the depths of Humility to teach us valuable lessons that we need to understand in order for us to make it back to our Heavenly Father. How great that plan of Redemption! We need not fear if we make a mistake because Jesus Christ has provided us a way to overcome our mortality and flaws! I can not express my gratitude towards his sacred sacrifice given to EVERYONE!! I want to encourage all of you to take a look back at President Uchtdorf's talk in Priesthood session titled: "You Can Do It Now!"
I love this work that is going forth among the children of God! It is time we take the yolk upon us ALL! As we do this, we prepare the way for the Saviors coming.
I love you all and can't wait to hear back from you!
The Superbly Awesome

YOU NEVER KNOW HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE'S LIFE!

A LETTER ELDER ZAC SNELL WANTED ME TO SHARE:

Dear Mommy!

I have learned that setting an example is one of the best ways to share the gospel. I had no idea that I could be the one to make such a big difference in ONE person’s life. I really have gone through a very humbling experience. I have asked for permission to share this letter.

It started when I just got out of a district meeting and we were waiting for the Zone Leaders to give us mail that had been sent to the mission office. To my surprise, I found that my name was called. I look to the Zone Leaders and see them holding up a tattered Envelope. It was crinkled and had been punctured during transportation. I looked at where it was from and it said: SAN ANTONIO TX. What in the World?!?
It was sent from an Elder in Texas. I wanted you to read it and maybe put it on the blog.

PLEASE READ THIS LETTER, I KNOW THAT YOU CAN MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE’S LIFE.  (you never know when it will be)

November 11, 2013

Hey Elder Snell,

You are probably wondering either,  1) Who is this?  2) Why am I writing to you?  Or Both. Well, let me tell you. My full name is _____  ______ but for two years it is Elder _____. If you still don’t know who I am it is okay. I get that a lot. Quick background on me…. I am the one that had been dating _____ for sixteen plus moths. Now you probably know who I am. So now I have answered question one. Now, for question two.

I am writing to you in full gratitude. You were the one that brought me back to reactivity in this wonderful church. Now, you are probably thinking when this happened. You are probably wracking your brain right now trying to think of when this happened. It wasn’t a Big thing it was just something you did.  Now, let me tell you how and when you brought me back.

But first let me set the scene. All the way back when I was fourteen I stopped being active. The only reason I was active was because my parents forced me to go to church. I was only a body in a pew. ( I don’t know how to spell it). Don’t get me wrong I was always able to exercise my priesthood but I just wasn’t ever there, spiritually. Then the announcement came that our Stake was going to be doing “Savior of the World.” I was determined not to go. But I was tricked into doing auditions, or whatever they called them. I didn’t sing though. I got away with it. After the audition I wasn’t going to participate but one day changed that. I was leaving seminary one day and YOU came up to me. (I didn’t know you knew who I was) I knew who you were and I thought you were a really cool kid. Then you told me that you had seen that I was going to be a shepherd with you. After you told me that I said to myself, “Okay, you are going to do this.” At that moment I decided I was going to stick this play out.

You may think you coming up to me like that was nothing but it had long lasting effects. Because of your courage to come up to me and say that, I had an experience that turned my life in a complete 180 degrees. One day the Second Counselor in the Stake Presidency came to one of our practices when we were at the Regional Center. At the end of practice he wanted all of us to have the same experience that Peter, James and John had; to walk up to Jesus after he was resurrected. When it was my turn, I walked up and touched one hand and looked up into his face. I felt so horrible. I didn’t feel like I deserved to touch him. I quickly ran off the stage, went to the front row and just cried. At that moment I told myself “I am never going to feel like this again!” My life was going the wrong way. I had some friends that weren’t best examples. That experience turned my life around.

I am so grateful to you, Elder. You are the reason why I am experiencing the BEST moments of my Life. Without you there is no way I would have met the people I met, including ________. Without you I wouldn’t be serving a mission. Without you I wouldn’t be experiencing the true joy of the gospel. I thought I knew Joy but Gospel Joy, True Gospel Joy is far greater! You have saved my LIFE. Hopefully, this Thank You can suffice for now. I know you are and will be an amazing missionary because you are a Fantastic Person!

Love, Elder _______

THE RAIN OF THE FROZEN NON-FLUFFY STUFF!!!!!! ♫Dun Dun Dun♫

We are under attack of wet, slippery, Frozen Rain! I walked outside today to find that all the trees have been encased by Ice! It is a frozen wintery Icy wonderland! A hazard in by book. I wouldn't make a theme park out of that. people would sue me in a heartbeat! Slippedy slip slip all the way home.

anyways, this week has been an interesting one because I was leading the area! AHHHHHHH! could you imagine me simply shrinking down into a corner under the stress? If you could, You have a fantastic imagination because that is the opposite of what happened. I went out all guns a blazing! I stepped out side and yelled at the top of my lungs, "LOOK OUT RESTON, BECAUSE THEY LET ELDER SNELL ON THE LOOSE!" And after that, I let out my war cry. Yup, pretty exciting!
So there I went, all full stock and barrel! Wahooooo!!! I was a free missionary. it was like someone handed me a sock. Zac is a free missionary! hahahaha! I hope you get that reference..... Sadly, we had to drop a family because they didn't want to change their religion. they move back to India and when they do, they said they would just switch back to Hindu. Gah!!! Why do people have to have free agency?!?!?!?!?! I mean, I love mine, but I despise everyone else's. Other than that little error, the week went by flawlessly!

So on Saturday, we had our ward Christmas party, and guss who got a hold of a trumpet......... I DID!!!!!!!  BWAHAHAH! Of course, I practiced the songs that I would play at the party, but when I played the first note in a really long time, Elder Rowley started to question whether or not I would be able to play. he was seriously doubting my skills. But, that's ok because I will agree, it sounded as bad as when I first learned how to play. After about five minutes of warming up, I was soaring over the high notes and sticking it to the low notes! I was back!!!!!! Man, it felt so good to play a trumpet again. I played Joy to the world and Ding Dong Merrily on High. They sounded great. I had tons of people complement me on the good job that I did. I also got a hold of a Trombone! ahahaha I learned how to play it at a members house! He let me play it. It wasn't a normal trombone, it was a bass trombone, so after I played it, My face felt really weird because I wasn't used to my lips flapping around in that huge of a mouthpiece. it was super crazy! CRAZY FUN!

I absolutely love all the recordings I got from everyone on thanksgiving and on other days! I love you people! I would encourage all of you to find my dropbox stuff and watch/listen/look at the many adventures of Elder Snell.

Love you all and wish you a merry Christmas!! Don't go slipping into any fire hydrants.

With vigorous energy,
~E.Z.Snell(der) hahaha ;)

2 Month Mark

Picture Sent to us 11/29/13 from Mary Margaret. Here is what she said.

What a happy, dedicated young man! You can be proud of him!Tonight at our home.

Reflections from Zac sent to Steve and I. I am so BLESSED to feel of his Love and Growth that is happening in his Life!!!!   YES, I do think he is AMAZING!!!

11/18/13- (2 month mark)

Mom & Dad,
I need to express my gratitude to you for teaching me how to be an amazing person. You guys are the greatest! I love you both with ALL my heart. Do you want to know why people come up to you and compliment you on how amazing your kids are? It is because you guys did such and AMAZING job raising us. I owe my thanks to you for instilling a desire to serve in me. I would definitely not be out here if it weren’t for your righteous living and raising us.  You are the reason I have such great relationships with Caden and LexieLexie, because you had me take her places like Lagoon. Plus, she is playing trumpet now!!!^^ Caden because we shared a room growing up, but we really clicked once Caden joined band. Without your influence to me doing Band, we wouldn’t have that connection.  Think about how different his life would be if we didn’t have that kind of relationship. He and I are best friends now. We are totally living next door when we move out. I want all of us to be the family that is always doing something together. We should all live in the same neighborhood!
You always tell us kids that you are proud of us. Well, I am here to say that I am proud of you guys. You deal with me and my hardships in life. Whenever I am having a tough day or am not doing well at something. I can turn to you guys. I can tell you anything. Not many kids these days can say that. The number is becoming few in number and you have raised me and my siblings to be in that number.
Just as people compliment you on you and your kids, others compliment me on my AWESOME Parents!! Seriously, ask any of my friends (Caden is included on this one) and they will tell you that you are one of the coolest! Thanks for your support in all that I do/did. I know that I sometimes wasn’t the best at what I did, but you still supported me still the same. I know that I wasn’t the best soccer player, but you still bought me an A&Wrootbeer freeze after I kicked in a penalty kick. That is one of my favorite memories. Not the goal, but the Love and Recognition I received after it. Dad always had nectarines that he would let me have when I was on the sidelines and Mom was there to be everyone’s favorite soccer Mom who not only yelled at me, but the other players as well J
Dad, Thank you for playing pool with me. I will always remember that. As insignificant it might have seemed, I always looked forward to when Dad came home so I could “beat” him in pool. Although you can kick my butt at Billiards, you have a long time before you have enough skill to beat my pinball score. No, I did not cheat. J
Mom, I am always looking forward to the times we sit down and talk. I remember even back to the house in Bountiful when you and I would sit down on the couch and you would ask, “Sowhatcha wanna talk ‘bout, Zacky?” I would never know what to talk about, but that was ok, because I loved the times we got to snuggle. Always remember that there will be a warm hug waiting for you as soon as you come through the door. J
I love you guys so much!!! I hope that you remember the things I have brought up. I cherish these memories, they are some of my Most Favorites.

I miss you Guys!

With Love and much Gratitude,
Elder Snell
P.S. (>^^)>#   I made you a waffle

To my adoring subjects!

Oh wow, it is cold! Its the wind that is killer. I was walking up and down the street talking to people and I thought I would be like Caden and not wear a jacket. I was in short sleeves talking to random people on the street! People would ask me why the heck I didn't have a jacket on and I thought it was a great way to start a conversation which I could easily turn into a gospel discussion! The temple lights are being put up for the 6th until the 1st of January! It is too bad that I can't go to see them. Maybe I will have to find an Investigator to take there.
Speaking of Investigators, We have a new one named Valentina! She is Russian and from Ukraine. We got her to come to church with us yesterday and It was super awesome! She is a concert pianist! We taught her the second lesson.(plan of salvation) She loved the fact that we are all children of God and He loves and cares for us all!
I wish I had some crazy stories for you, but I appreciate the prayers in my behalf, they have truly helped. ON Monday,(last) we went out finding and were having a really tough time doing so. We then decided to go check up on a potential that lived in a huge apartment complex. We knocked on her door and to our surprise, no body answered.( nobody ever answers) Discouraged, we turn and face away from her door. We moved to the middle of the circular corridor and contemplated what we should do next. We started to leave, but for some reason, we stopped at a door at the exit of the corridor. We knocked that door, waited 2 minuets and then someone answered! They said they weren't interested, but we kept on telling them that this message was super important. they refused to let us talk to them until we said the magic words. "Families can be together forever" the man then said, "ok. you can come in." Just like that, we walked in and taught them the restoration and how families can be together forever because of it. There is no doubt in my mind that this happened because of the prayers of others. I express my deepest of gratitude towards you.
I have used my voice recorder for a couple things and encourage you to listen to them.
I love you all and wish the best of luck to all those who desire to share this gospel either as a missionary or as a member! Please consider watching President Monson's address on the Saturday morning session. It is fantastic!
Love you all!
Live Life to the Fullest!

I Shall Rest in Reston

Even though I use the word Rest, I dont mean sleep. The work here is completely different than in Manassas, but I shouldnt compare. that is one of the three C's. Don't Compare, Don't Criticize, and Don't Complain. anyways. let us start from the beginning.

So, it is late Wednesday night around 10:30. Elders Cannon, Massey, Jensen, and Snell gather around tiny christmas tree. (you could probably guess who set it up) Twas the night of transfers call, the night that can change your direction in one simple word. The phone rings and Elder Cannon jumps up to grab the phone and answers. It is the Zone Leaders! Dun Dun Dun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thoughts and guesses are tossed around as the Zone Leaders speak. Elder Cannon and I expected to stay together for atleast one more transfer. Elder Gustofson's voice pierces the air: Elder Cannon is Staying. Elder Snell, Pack your bags.
WHAT?!?!?!?!
That was the last thing we expected to hear. So come transfer day, I headed off to the meeting to find out where the spirit of the Lord has taken me. "Elder Snell will travel to Reston in the Oakton Stake where he will be trained by Elder Rowley!" (voice of President Riggs) I had no Idea where Reston was.... I soon found out!

So for those of you who dont know what it is like to live in Virginia, There is no such thing as a straight road. all of them are curvy!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where did the good old grid system go? Why did the cities in Virginia have to be designed by a Two year old who cant seem to draw a straight line? Of course, I just need to get over it and find someone who has a GPS. That's all.

Ah, I love Reston. The entire city has trails going throughout it. Like the one that goes on forever back at home! Just imagine you are at Six flags magic mountain and mix it with the one at home. there! Tons of hills. Super fun to bike. (If my companion didn't have a flat tire.)

The first day here, (Friday) we walked everywhere. the work here is completely different. we work with members more than the investigators so far. We dont have any investigators YET. I have met so many awesome families here.

Saturday, we did the same old song and dance and walked to member and potential investigators houses. Since we were walking, Most of the day, we were street contacting people.

Sunday, We had the Primary Program!!!! (Manassas just had that last week, so I saw two) I love the primary people! They are super cute! We didnt get to do much because my church starts at 14:00! That is crazy late! boy, I cant wait until fast sunday.

Today is Preparation Day!!!!! Cant wait to enjoy it further.

I have been called to Repentance by a lot of you. I hope that I did a better job at describing my week. Sorry if it seems like I don't write a lot, but it is hard to write about average things. Every day seems the same, but when you dig down deep, there is a miracle waiting to be discovered.

I love All of you! Don't forget to be looking for missionary experiences. I love to hear about all of them!

Until I see you all agin,
~Elder Snell!!!!!! :)

RESTON, VIRGINIA

TRANSFER DAY!

Elder Snell is now Companions with Elder Rowley and is in Reston VA.

Salt and Pepper?

Today, I didn't use salt and pepper. TAKE THAT SEASONINGS I just avoided the big guns of all pancakes!!! Turns out that chicken goes well with waffles. How would I know this? we have a bag of potato chips in our apt. that is chicken and waffle flavored.... have I tried those, No!!!! I don't dare open them for the fact that our apartment would smell like chicken and waffles. anyways.... It wouldn't be me that is bothered by the smell, it is the rest of the people in the apartment complex.

So we set 2 people on date for baptism on the 4th of January! huzzah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We did that last night! Taught the plan of salvation and they loved it! Ah goodness!!!!! I am super excited. Other than that, I have no Idea what to talk about.

STANFORD DAY!!!!!!!!! Gotta love it! 11/9! I was business Stanford for this year. I got to walk around acting like Stanford. I even wore my glasses for him. I wanted to make a noodle pinata, but we didn't have any time to goof off, so that Idea was shot down like an injured duck.... I was still thinking of it.

This week of finding has been tough, but We are pushing through the hard times. I have knocked many many doors. It is hard and tough to do, but when the Lord asks to do something, no questions asked... DO IT!!! 1Nephi 3:7

Don't forget to always but the butter on the bottom of your toast, because if you don't, when you drop it, it will land butter side down. why not take the liberty of doing gravity a favor and flipping it around.
I would like to make a request. Lynette, will you forward your letter I sent to you to my mom who in turn will send it to whoever wants it? hahahah! I got bored.

ummmm... OH YEAH!! OPERATION FACEBOOK is going to be put into action this Tomorrow!!!!!! HEYAYAYAYA! I am super stoked! :P

I love all of you who read this email. everyone else who does not read it, I love you a little less. :P just letting ya know.

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND STANFORD DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I despise Daylight Savings....

Ok... so My companion "conveniently" forgot to tell me it was daylight savings.... So I ended up getting up an hour earlier than I had to!!!! PAH!!!

hahah anyways, I apologize for not having sent a long letter last Preparation Day. I think I made my point though.

I went to the Dullas Air Port last Monday. If you have no idea what that is, It is the same place where Sam Witwiki talks to the old Blackbird Decepticon. If you haven't seen that transformers, You are lost and need to get a life and watch that show! ;) It was crazy cool! I am loving the time here on my mission and always look forward to the times where I get to Email home. the only problem is, I get ready to type and my mind goes blank!!!!!!! Problem, I think yes!!!!!!

So on Thursday, it was Halloween and I just want to give a shout out to my favorite costume person.

CADEN! I LOVE YOUR FREAKING GUTS!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! YOU ARE A GENIUS! WHERE DO YOU FIND SUCH AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who didn't see Caden, you were probably looking at the ground.

back to my point. We watched two movies on Halloween. Cloudy with a chance of meatballs and Monsters University! I totally forgot how hilarious Cloudy was! I was laughing so hard that people would laugh at my laughing! I have eaten so much candy in the past week... I don't know what I would do if I didn't work out in the mornings and didn't have a bike to ride....

speaking of bikes. WE GOT A CAR!!!!!! What the what!!!!!??? Elder Cannon doesn't really like it because he loves to bike, but I don't mind having it. It is a Chevy cruiz 2014. hahaha It stands out because it is white. yup. Livin' the life!

We have this totally awesome new investigator named Manny. He looks like he could beet you up cuz he has scars all over his face and head and body... Allover!!!!! but he is the nicest guy you could know. he had one of those 'I see the light' experiences when he crashed his motorcycle. Super cool dude! He Is coming to church and We are going to teach him the Plan O Salvation tomorrow.

Always look for opportunities to share the gospel. Doing so will bless your lives! the prophet said to do it, so you might as well do it. hahaha. This month is No Shame November! Don't be ashamed of what you know to be true! Others are living without it and it kills me to know this. Always Share your Testimony!

I love and miss you all! Don't forget to write me because one of the elders in my apartment gets a letter a day! Crazy!!!! well, its letters of course. the paper ones that nobody uses anymore... yeah those. :P
(Mom this is directed to you) hahahahaahahahaha ;)

THE PROPHESY HAS BEEN FULFILLED!

so i am super super short on time right now. I plan to send a written letter to mom so she has to type it all up so everyone can see it.

anyways. the gospel can now touch every part of the world! thats right! through facebook! I get to be a facebook missionary!!!!! in december we are getting I pads for each missionary and an I phone for each companionship. We can now skype and have lessons over it with people from home, so find nonmember friends and ask if they want to have a missionary talk to them. you, my companion and I can have a Skype lesson, so get skype!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I love alll of you!!! keep living the gospel and find those who are lost! I know that most everyone is a member where I live, but! there are tons of you who know people who could use a good talking to by the missionaries.

Keep Living life to the fullest! untill my mom types up the letter,

SALSA!!!!

SALSA!!!

That was the first thing that came to mind when I read the word: Subject. I just wanted you all to know.
So the mission life caries on! Dun Dun Dun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have loved every minute of it! sure it gets tough and you sometimes have to eat fish and stuff or talk to a super awkward families and experience miracles and get boo'd of the door step and sometimes you run into someone with an awesome turbin on their head.
sadly only a few of these came to be, but I shall elaborate.
The missionary life is one of a glutton. haha! You eat what ever is put on your plate and you pick every last crumb off the plate. I cant tell you how I managed to shove 4 baked potatos in my mouth and into my stomach after a huge meal. The family just kept putting them on my plate! I cant stand baked potatos... especially when they aren't even cooked! On the bright side, I did gain about 3 lbs since I have left! ahahahaha! Take that biggest loser! Now I am the biggest gainer! now you get to watch skinny people eat instead of watching overweight people work out! :P
So there is this missionary from Canada and, as Ally Brough would say, he is a hoot and a half! last Monday was not only UEA, but it was also Canadian Thanksgiving! so, we all got together at the church, played basket ball and ate all of your classic thanksgiving stuff! only one thing was added. Putine! I probably spelled it wrong and smelled it wrong, but i definitely didn't taste it wrong! It was french fries covered in cheese covered in gravy. Yeah, that's right, Jake. I just ate one of your dreams!
2nd Timothy 1:7-8
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord.
I have shared this scripture a couple times as a spiritual thought for when we teach members. I now extend the same challenge to all of you.
You all heard the prophet tell us that the members need to actively participate in missionary work! So do it! I challenge you to not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord! Share the truths that are crucial to understand to obtain celestial glory! There are people out there who don't understand what we have waiting for us!
How Great, the Call of the Chosen!
We are they who have been chosen to save! We have been called and answered full heartedly. We have been called to help others endure. We have been chosen to bring a light and a happiness to those who dwell in darkness and sorrow. We are angels sent from God. We find those who are seeking. We lift those who are falling. We lighten those who are burdened. We are they who after having done their part, turn back and carry those who's all is not enough. We are the Suppliers of Grace, the Bringers of Truth, the Givers of Glory to God!
How Great, the Call of the Chosen!
I love you all! thanks for all the support you have given me and love you have shown!
Until Next Monday,

Gong-Ye-Tam-Pi!!!!!

HAHAHAHA I think the only people that will understand the title of the Email is Caden and Jake. Anyways, I am loving this place! It has been so fun biking everywhere and talking to all the missionaries that have been out here for a year. My companion is the District Leader...... AGAIN!!!! I don't know what God is trying to tell me, but I will roll with it because I know that he has the big road map to success and all I have to do is trust his directions that he gives me. ^^

So, you would think that I would be able to show up to my mission and just be able to talk to people at their doorstep with confidence and be able to tie in a gospel principle while casually talking about their plants/dog/family/job/sport interests/oddly colored hair/awesome accent, but that isn't the case... The first door I knocked, I was grateful to have it be a really nice person that would listen to me stammer on about how the gospel of Jesus Christ is the pathway back to our Heavenly Father. Halfway through my speech, the familiar "no speak English" comes up and they shut the door..... *sigh* Yeah, Missionary Tracting life is tough. On behalf of my downheartedness of getting the door shut in my face and me beating myself up knowing I could do better, my companion came up with a "fun" game. At least, that is what he called it... The game was called, "Lets Have Elder Snell Knock Doors Until He Gets Someone To Listen To Him. Then When That Happens, He Will Do It For The Rest Of The Night". *Sarcastic 'Yay!!!!!'* So guess what! I am now a total Boss at Knocking doors!!! HAHA Even though the process wasn't that fun, It was totally worth it. Of course I got tired of my companion saying: "So what did we learn from that?" or "What could you have done better?" Yeah, we had fun.

Jake, you were wondering why you had the urge to go up and bare your testimony in church today. I have the answer. I DID TOO!!! My church was at 9:00 which for your time is around 7. I bore my testimony and you knew it deep down inside of you. Heavenly Father wont let our deal die down, just letting you know. You thought you had escaped the Grips of having to bare your testimony, but you are DEAD wrong!!! BWAHAHAHA!!!!

I have loved getting letters from all of you and hearing about what life back home is like. Can somebody please convince Caden to wear his Hot dog costume for Halloween and send me a video of him doing his "I'm a Hot dog" Dance. Also, spread the word to all my trumpets I love them all and they better not disappoint at Davis Cup!!!!1(yes, that is a 1 at the end of exclamation points;)

I love you all!!!! Hymn #252
